● Solar Engineering Solutions

Engineered solar power, built for Uganda.

Helios designs, audits, installs and maintains solar systems for homes, businesses and off-grid sites. Every system starts with a proper load audit and site survey, so it is sized right the first time.

01. What we do

Solar solutions for every site

From a single rooftop to a commercial plant, we handle the full job: engineering audit, design, supply, installation and aftercare.

Residential Solar

Rooftop systems sized to your household that cut your monthly bill and keep the lights on through outages.

Commercial & Industrial

Three-phase arrays for offices, factories, schools and farms that lower operating costs and protect against tariff increases.

Battery Storage & Backup

Lithium storage that saves daytime sun for the evening and switches over automatically when Umeme power drops.

Off-Grid Systems

Complete stand-alone power for remote homes, lodges, clinics and water pumping where the grid doesn’t reach.

Load Audits & Site Surveys

Detailed engineering assessments covering your appliances, roof structure, shading, earthing and electrical supply.

Maintenance & Repair

Panel cleaning, health checks, inverter servicing and fast repairs, including systems installed by other companies.

02. Our process

Engineered before it’s installed

We follow a gated engineering process. Nothing is quoted until we have measured your loads and inspected your site.

  1. 01Consultation

    Tell us your needs

Share your bills, the problems you want solved and your budget. We give an initial estimate.

  2. 02Load audit

    Measure your loads

We list every appliance, its rating, hours of use and motor loads to build your daily energy profile.

  3. 03Site assessment

    Inspect the site

An engineer checks the roof, shading, orientation, earthing and supply, and records GPS coordinates.

  4. 04Design

    Proposal you sign off

You receive the inverter, battery and PV sizing, cable runs, cost and expected savings, for your approval.

  5. 05Commissioning

    Install, test, support

Our team installs, tests and commissions the system, then keeps monitoring it for you.

What every site survey covers

  • Structural soundnessLoad capacity, and whether reinforcement or a sub-frame is needed
  • Tilt, azimuth & shadingRoof pitch, true solar orientation, trees and nearby structures
  • Grid & supplyOn-grid (Umeme) or off-grid, single-phase 230V or three-phase 415V
  • Earthing & protectionExisting grounding checked, or a new earth rod added
  • Breakers & cable runsMain breaker rating and DC/AC cable distances for safe design
03. Why Helios

Built to perform for decades

Like the phoenix in our logo, a Helios system rises with the sun every morning. We design for long-term reliability, not the lowest upfront price.

  • Engineering-led

Every system is sized from a measured load audit and site survey, not guesswork.

  • Quality components

Tier-1 panels, trusted inverters and lithium batteries backed by manufacturer warranties.

  • Safety first

We check earthing, breakers and structures, and we install to recognised safety standards.

  • Signed-off designs

You approve the design before any work starts, so there are no hidden changes.

  • Remote monitoring

Track production and savings on your phone. We spot faults before you notice them.

  • Local aftercare

Our field operations team is based in Kampala and responds quickly.

04. Sizing tools

Estimate your savings and system size

Get a quick feel for the numbers. These tools give a starting point, and your engineer confirms the final sizing during the site survey.

What our clients say

“Our power bill dropped dramatically in the first month, and load-shedding no longer affects us. The team was professional from start to finish.”
HomeownerResidential client
“They measured every load in the building before quoting. Production is exactly what they promised, and the monitoring app is excellent.”

07. FAQ

Common questions

How much does a solar system cost?

It depends on your energy use, whether you want battery backup, and your roof. After a free load audit and site survey, we give you a fixed, itemised quote with no hidden charges.

Can I stay connected to Umeme?

Yes. A hybrid system runs on solar first, charges your batteries, and uses Umeme only when needed. If the grid goes down, it switches to battery power automatically.

Will my roof hold the panels?

We check this during the site survey. Mabati, clay tile and concrete roofs can all take panels. If the structure needs reinforcement or a sub-frame, it goes into your design before installation. Ground mounts are also available.

Does solar work on cloudy or rainy days?

Yes. Panels still produce power in cloudy conditions, just less of it. Battery storage carries you through overcast periods and the night.

How long does installation take?

Most home installations take 1–3 days. Larger commercial projects are scheduled around your operations to keep disruption to a minimum.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible payment options so you can start saving right away. Ask our team what is available to you.
